Congratulations are in order for Central Middle School ELL Science Teacher Jodi Reno. She is the recipient of a $1000 award.

Reno was awarded the prize at the National Institute for Construction Excellence luncheon. The ceremony took place at Bartle Hall in Kansas City, Missouri on Tuesday, November 1st.

The event, hosted by Fox 4 Anchor Loren Halifax,  recognizes educators who dedicate themselves to bringing real-world experiences to the classroom by connecting science and engineering to the construction industry.

“Over the years, Central Middle School students have flourished with wanting to know more about these career areas and have won numerous awards,” said Reno. She believes her work with sixth, seventh and eighth grade students is what keeps her motivated. “I am a behind the scenes person who loves the challenge of getting students to feel uncomfortable but yet successful in the end.
